Local historians recognised for their work

Three dedicated local historians were recognised at our 2026 Spring Meeting on 16 May. President Dr Heather Falvey presented the HALH Award to David Short and Jane Harris and to Pat Howe in her absence in recognition of their outstanding contribution to local history in Hertfordshire. More information and photos here.

HALH Symposium Saturday 24 October at Wheathampstead

This year's Symposium, 'Royalty and Aristocracy in Hertfordshire', will take place on Saturday 24 October at the Marford Memorial Hall in Wheathampstead. We’ll be looking at Hertfordshire’s royal connections over the centuries as well as some of the more colourful members of the county’s aristocracy. More details to follow.
