HALH Online Winter Lectures 2025 We are pleased to be bringing you our free Winter Lecture Series again in 2025. As usual there will be one online evening lecture each month January to March. More details to follow. HALH Spring Meeting & AGM 2025 Our Spring Meeting will take place on Saturday 17 May 2025 at Dagnall Street Baptist Church, St Albans. Details to follow. Symposium 2025 For 2025 we will be partners with the British Association for Local History and Bedfordshire Local History Association for a regional conference with a transport theme to be held on Saturday 11 October at Barton-le-Clay, Bedfordshire. More details to follow. HALH Awards for contribution to local history 2024 Three dedicated local historians, Ruth Jeavons, Dawn Pitts and Theo van de Bilt, were presented with the HALH Award by our new President, Dr Heather Falvey at our Spring Meeting in May. Preserving Research Data A short report was given at the 2023 Spring Meeting of discussions between HALH and Herts Archives & Local Studies (HALS) about preserving the work of local historians and local history societies. The report can be viewed here We'd like to remind members that subscriptions are due on 1 January and also that new rates will apply for 2025 as well as a two tier membership for digital or hard copy journals.
