HALH Recorder Scheme

HALH co-ordinates a network of 'recorders' throughout the county who chronicle the changes taking place today in their localities and ensure that their history is not lost.  This is fascinating and important work which will help inform local historians of the future.  Recorders receive guidelines on their role, and an annual workshop is held to give recorders further help and support.  The group has formed an oral history section to record the reminiscences of a range of Hertfordshire people, and is producing a register of recordings.  The recorders published their first book Community Life in Hertfordshire - 2000 - a record of the people and events that were involved in the celebration of the Millennium.  There are still some copies of the book available at £5, half the original price including UK postage.
