HALH Recorders' Scheme
HALH co-ordinated a network of 'recorders' throughout the county who chronicled the changes taking place today in their localities and ensure that their history is not lost. This is fascinating and important work which will help inform local historians of the future. The group formed an oral history section to record the reminiscences of a range of Hertfordshire people, and produced a register of recordings (now held at HALS). The recorders published their first book Community Life in Hertfordshire - 2000 - a record of the people and events that were involved in the celebration of the Millennium. There are still some copies of the book available at £5, half the original price including UK postage.
